According to the American Academy of Pediatrics motor vehicle crashes are the number one cause of death for children and adolescents ages 1 to 21. Any Champaign County resident who meets income guidelines is eligible for a free inspection and low cost child safety seat through the Champaign County Safe Kids Coalition.
