Safe Kids Champaign County (SKCC)
Safe Kids Champaign County is a grassroots coalition formed in 1995 by local organizations and businesses throughout Champaign County. SKCC is a member of Safe Kids Worldwide and our mission is to reduce unintentional injuries to children in Champaign County through prevention-related programs and resources. Safe Kids Champaign County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is led by Champaign-Urbana Public Health District.
Why Safe Kids?
Accidental injury is the number one killer of America's children, taking more lives than disease, violence and suicide. Prevention is the cure. It is estimated that by taking simple precaution, almost all (90 percent) of accidental injuries can be avoided.
